At Universal Manufacturing we build more than top-quality boards. The key to our success-and yours-is the working relationship we build with our customers. We work with every customer to design for manufacturability and quality from the start. The key is creative communication, at you facility or at ours. By working as members of a team, keeping each other informed about new techniques and technologies, we provide the highest level of quality and performance at a reasonable cost. Our approach begins with two-way communication. We learn about design complexities up front, so we can address design for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. If a proposed design pushes up manufacturing cost, we can suggest alternatives that decrease cost without compromising performance.

Our current manufacturing capabilities are among the best in the industry, and we have recently become ISO-9000 quality manufacturers to meet customer needs into the 21st century.

Our approach to waste water treatment meets the latest environmental regulations, and looks toward the needs of the next century. We have installed a new wastewater treatment system that will be continually refined in efficiency to reduce water consumption. We recycle the extracted metals for reuse conserving valuable resources and contributing to the preservation of our environment. We're committed to cutting water consumption even further, while holding down cost and passing the saving on to the customer.

Accuracy and Repeatability: are critical. We can generate our own film from customer data on disk, or with a customer-provided film. We check the photo plot for space and trace accuracy to within +/- .0005 inch. We guarantee accuracy throughout the imaging process, from photo negative to finished product using statistical process controls. Above all, we make sure that every board meets or exceeds the customer specifications.

Precision Registration: of multiplayer boards requires accurate fixturing. We verify precise front-to-back alignment of every layer.

Accurate and Repeatable Panelization: controls cost. Accurate drilling and routing gives each board exactly the same final form. The result is consistent, controlled quality and cost.

Measured process controls mean the right plating-every time: Our In-house lab capabilities include electronic caviderm and atomic absorption meter analysis on the plating line. We use the caviderm to accurately measure the thickness and evenness of plating on every production lot during the plating process. Instead of simply measuring the amount of time a board spends in plating, as some manufactures do. We use the atomic absorption meter to perform chemical analysis. Our statistical process charting analysis ensures that each board meets all requirements of the IPC 600 plating standard.

Our quality assurance means a reliable board every time. We can perform 100% electrical testing on customer request to verify trace continuity and to detect any opens or shorts. The results are a reliable board every time.
